What is the point in having so many watchers if no one actually cares enough to look or to read ?

When I first joined this site I was amazed by the quality of the art presented here. There were amazing artists, amazing artwork, amazing ideas. My list of people I watched grew every day. I used to check the Daily Deviation section in order to have my special wow moment. The moment when you sit back and just admire a quality selection.
Today I avoid the daily deviation section ... I am sick of seeing images of girls using razors to cut their lips, of blood on corpses, of women injured by them selves or by others. I know these are realities. I know that self inflicted pain or open wounds are realities. But from there to raising them to the notion of art ...
I know the whole politics about "it won't do you any good to disagree with a DD". Read all that. The problem is I am beyond disagreement. I am disappointed. I used to believe in this site, in the values it claims to promote. But more and more I see these values fading away ... And it is a shame.
